HeliVert Joint venture

A preliminary agreement to create the Russian-Italian joint venture HeliVert was signed by AgustaWestland and Russian Helicopters at the Farnborough International Airshow in 2008. On November 6 2008 a joint venture agreement was signed at a ceremony attended by the Russian and Italian prime ministers, Vladimir Putin and Silvio Berlusconi. The legal framework for the venture was signed in summer 2011 in France, and HeliVert staff underwent training at AgustaWestland facilities in Italy from January to March 2012.

The fit-out of the HeliVert facility was completed in 2012, and in December 2012 the first AW139 assembled in Russia made its maiden flight.
