Russian Air Force took delivery of over 100 new rotorcraft in 2013

The fleet of Russian Air Force was completed with over a hundred new helicopters during 2013, including 14 Ka-52 “Alligator” combat helicopters, Victor Bondarev, Lieutenant General, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Air Force announced to the press on Wednesday.

“This year we take delivery of more than one hundred helicopters”, said Victor Bondarev during his visit to Progress Arsenyev Aviation Company (Russian Helicopters production plant).

More specifically, according to Commander-in-Chief, Progress enterprise fully completed State Defense order in 2013 with regard to deliveries of Ka-52 helicopters to the Russian Air Force.

“The plant has completed this year’s assignment without fail and all 14 helicopters will be inducted into the Air Force”, said Victor Bondarev.

He underlined that Ka-52s are being inducted into the aviation units at Eastern, Southern and Western Command.

Commander-in-Chief reported that the progress of new aircraft induction should remain at the same level in 2014.

“Today in the shops we have seen the rotorcraft from 2014 stock. “Russian Helicopters” holding and the plant make a commitment to supply us with helicopters continuously every quarter. The first six helicopters will arrive starting from March and not at the end of the year, then three or four helicopters will follow every quarter. Pilots shall start mastering them from March onwards”, said Victor Bondarev.
